Missha Micro Bubble Mild Foam Cleaner (Review)

Hi everyone,

Hope you enjoy this review!

Missha Micro Bubble Mild Foam Cleanser

Product descriptionContains cotton seed to provide soothing and mild cleansing for sensitive skin.

How to use:

1) Apply 1-2 pumps to the face and cleanse.

2) Wash off the cleanser with warm water.

Product Price: $12.00 USD

Product Period: + 3 months

Personal Experience: I couldn't stand this cleanser despite the somewhat pleasant cotton scent and self foaming capability it had, i felt that upon immediate contact my skin was so irritated and red because the scent was just overwhelming. The ingredients if you look closely contains A LOT of "Ethanol" which is straight up alcohol. . not cool, that is what definitely caused my skin to have a reaction and feel like it was on fire. Skip this one . . But try Missha Time Revolution Artemesia essence instead if you want to try one of their best products.

Skinfood Vita Water Pore Fit Cushion Bottle Sun (Review)

Hi everyone,

I received this product as a gift from a friend of mine during the summer a year or two back ago, I was excited considering the product was from Skinfood.

Enjoy the review ~

Skinfood Vita Water Pore Fit Cushion Bottle Sun

Product description:

- Sunscreen in a form of a spray cushion.

- Features UVA/ UVB and brightens complection

Product Price: $27.00 USD

Product Period: 3 months

How to use:

1) Turn the bottle to "On"

2) Shake the bottle for at least 10 seconds

3) Pump the product 4-5 times

4) Open the cap and gently puff the product onto the face

Personal Experience: It offers some very light tinted coverage but reeks of gasoline, aside from that it'll give a decent finish if you aren't wearing makeup or maybe as a very light base? I do like the convenience of application and how it's travel friendly though. . and minus the fragrance, i actually don't really see much wrong with this formula except polypropylene which is basically just a cheap version of proplyene glycol (petrolatum base) which i find to just be a very cheap "solution" for dryness or wanting something to feel nice. All in the all the product is very user friendly but this. . it just didn't perform and i can't get over the propane/butane smell it releases.

If you can get over that, it's just a decent product. . the light coverage can look a bit patchy and is better for someone with a deeper yellow/olive (brown skin) like myself.

[Review] Missha Color Clay Mask Green (Pore Care)

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a majority of the products that I purchased during my first trip to Japan, which has been quite a while a now.

I've been trying out and using the products for quite some time, so I feel more than comfortable writing these product reviews.
Missha Color Clay Mask Green (Pore Care)

Product description: Pore care mask with Brazilian green clay to help absorb sebum and clean pores.

-Brazilian natural clay
-Classified color treatment depending on the type of skin troubles
How to use:
1) Remove any makeup or residue then cleanse the face and apply a thick layer of the mask avoiding eye and mouth area.
2) After 10 to 15 minutes wash off the mask with lukewarm water.
Product Price: $9.00 USD
Product period use: 4 months+
-

Personal experience: I was extremely excited when I first saw Missha in Tokyo, Japan! However, I'm not even going to make this anything short of blunt. . I felt that all the products (skin, not color) that I had purchased happened to be extremely lackluster. I don't think Ive heard anyone rave except for their infamous essence and perhaps that one particular night product they have in the purple packaging.

The mask goes on green of course, though the consistency of the product stays quite wet as opposed to being a clay mask that dries rock hard. This is nice because you don't have to make such a dramatic effort to wash off the product after the time frame listed in the directions. However because the product goes on very wet and doesn't dry down too much, it doesn't seem that product is effective as one would think. I don't feel like it did much for my pores being cleared out and almost as if my skin didn't benefit from it at all. Lately, I have somewhat lost faith in most pore masks. . not all, but I definitely think a better investment is getting extractions by a trained aesthetician/professional.

In other words. . just a no from me, 2/5 because the consistency is really nice and spreads easily.

[Review] Kose Sekkisei Essence Milk SPF50+ PA+++

Hello everyone,

I have to thank you all for the continued support visiting my blog, I've made my own YouTube channel that I highly recommended you subscribe too if you want new content/cosmetic hauls. I would really appreciate if you did that, seriously. Additionally my other social media handles are below, please follow these if you would like to as well.

As always, thank you very much.

This product is one of many that are rather overdue, since my first trip to Japan, as of now I've visited a total of three times so I can't apologize enough for the lack of new reviews.

Please accept my apologies and enjoy the new product review, I will continue to deliver more and more (fingers crossed, lol) in the near future.

Feel free to see my product reviews/trip to Japan/South Korea through my YouTube platform by clicking here, please subscribe to my channel if you can, I would greatly appreciate it.

Kose Sekkisei Essence Milk SPF50+ PA+++
Sun Protect Essence Milk
Product description:
  • SPF50+/PA++++ thoroughly blocks UV-A which causes photo-aging, and UV-B which causes sunburn.
  • Water-proof. With emulsion formula and smooth powder for soft and silky finish. Blends smoothly into skin without white residue.
  • With Oriental plant extracts and mineral ingredients to hydrate and protect skin.
  • Suitable as makeup base. Enhances application and lasting effect of foundation.

How to apply: Shake well, personally the way I would use it is tilting my head back and lightly applying on the cheeks and forehead, then spreading the excess everywhere by patting it in from face to neck.

Ingredients: Here's a link to the ingredients via cosdna, but if you don't want to see there's basically "Water, alcohol" as the first ingredients, while the main ingredients are below in the listing. The formulation seems to be the same whether for the lotion, sun gel or even essence milk.
Medicated Sekkisei lotion (toner, far left), Sun gel (Center), Essence milk (right)
Personal experience: This product can feel greasy if you use it excessively, at the time when my acne breakouts were at its peak, I couldn't help but notice this did nothing good for my skin. Personally, I can see this product doing better for someone who's dry skin or combination but more on the dry skin. However, with the amount of alcohol in these products, I just can't lead myself to recommending them. I have to say this is a product of preference, for those who don't mind alcohol. I'm sure if you're into J-Beauty, this is a product you've heard being raved about at some point in time. While I was using it, I don't recall any phenomenal results aside from enjoying the fact there wasn't a need to use sunscreen after since it was already infused in the milk.

Rate: 2/5

I'll make it simple, if you haven't read my other product reviews for this product series, I actually don't happen to be a fan of any the products because of the high amount of alcohol.

I will say that this essence milk does a wonderful job as a hand cream, though I'm mainly inclined to say that considering it didn't have any other use for me and the texture is silky smooth.

It reminds me to the texture of the Transino C Whitening Day Protector which I've got a review coming for too, however, I happen to like the Transino product much more than this one.

To be completely I'm not impressed by the formulation of this product at all either, just seems to be overhyped if anything. .

The first three ingredients are: water, alcohol and silicones. . This is usually what I try to avoid too much, especially water since it's just. . water.

There are products where the main ingredient won't just be almost entirely of water, however, this isn't the case.

[Review] Kose Sekkisei Sun Protect Essence Gel SPF50+ PA+++

Hello everyone,

I've got about 20+ product reviews that are in my drafts, so I'm going to be trying to publish a new product review every week! Though, now that I'm active on YouTube (check the end of this blog entry for direct links to my social media platforms) I've been trying to make cosmetic product reviews on that platform too, so look into both for more reviews.

Enjoy the product review!

Kose Sekkisei Essence Gel SPF50+ PA+++

Product description: Quickly absorbs into the skin with a pleasant sensation.
  • A lotion-type sunscreen gel with oriental herbal extracts that protect the skin from damage due to UV rays and environmental elements, keeping it beautifully translucent.
  • SPF50+/PA++++, the highest possible ratings in Japan. Offers solid protection from photo-aging caused by UV-A rays (gradually reduce resilience and elasticity) and UV-B rays (burn the skin causing redness and inflammation), and prevents age spots and freckles caused by sun exposure.
  • Contains Smooth Gel that forms a thin veil and holds moisture within the epidermis while keeping the surface silky-smooth.
  • Infused with oriental herbal extracts that preventsdullness and skin troubles caused by dryness, and maintains a supple, translucent complexion.
How to use: Apply evenly over face and body before sun exposure.

Product price: This product comes in two different sizes, I bought the mini which was about $14 USD.

Scent: There's a hint of oriental herbs, though the majority in my opinion is the alcohol that cannot be masked by other fragrance.

Product period use: 3 months - not ongoing (stopped using after testing period)

Personal experience: I purchased the three products shown above when I went to Japan for the first time. At the time, I wanted more than anything to offer more content on my blog for you all. To do this, I had to first do research of some of the "big" brands and the most "popular" (advertised, lol) products in Japan. One brand in particular that I kept running into was this particular one, Kose. I thought from my first impressions that the packaging was quite nice, in my opinion it's quite simplistic and at the same time it embodies a bit of elegance. I was at a massive mall (honestly, I can't remember which one it was), and I was asking the sales clerk about this line. It's meant for whitening/brightening, and at the time I wanted to brighten up my dull skin from some mild acne scarring. I purchased a medium size of the Medicated toner (first product to the left), mini sun essence gel (center), and of course I wanted to also try the essence milk on the right. Unfortunately, it wasn't until later I did more research and discovered that I didn't understand the ingredients in these products. I've seen that this product has been effective for some, while others have felt it wasn't worth the purchase.

The sun essence gel has a watery texture, but it's still a bit thick in consistency, it applies easily (unlike the essence milk) and gives a moisturized appearance. For me, I felt that this was too heavy, thick and it became an oily mess on my skin. Granted, I have oily skin so this is a bit more difficult to review, however it would be more suitable for a normal skin type. I don't think it would be suitable for dry skin, as many claim would be good, as dry skin tends to have a "sensitive" aspect to it too.

I felt it brightened a little bit, but I just didn't enjoy the greasy feeling it gave my face and could not stand the ingredients list. I believe this line has so much potential, but that they should take away the ingredients that don't benefit the skin in any way, shape or form.

If you've been reading my blog entries for a while, I use to always highlight the ingredients that
I was not a fan of in all my product reviews. However, so many brands these days aren't revealing their ingredients list as easy (not on the box, nor online), however for this particular product review I wanted to make it a point since I find it contradicting of the designated product gain/effect.

I know all the ingredients and why I consider those in red troublesome, if you want a full explanation of why I marked it, leave me a comment on and I'll be more than happy to answer any questions/concerns.
