[Review] Kose Sekkisei Essence Milk SPF50+ PA+++

Hello everyone,

I have to thank you all for the continued support visiting my blog, I've made my own YouTube channel that I highly recommended you subscribe too if you want new content/cosmetic hauls. I would really appreciate if you did that, seriously. Additionally my other social media handles are below, please follow these if you would like to as well.

As always, thank you very much.

This product is one of many that are rather overdue, since my first trip to Japan, as of now I've visited a total of three times so I can't apologize enough for the lack of new reviews.

Please accept my apologies and enjoy the new product review, I will continue to deliver more and more (fingers crossed, lol) in the near future.

Feel free to see my product reviews/trip to Japan/South Korea through my YouTube platform by clicking here, please subscribe to my channel if you can, I would greatly appreciate it.

Kose Sekkisei Essence Milk SPF50+ PA+++
Sun Protect Essence Milk
Product description:
  • SPF50+/PA++++ thoroughly blocks UV-A which causes photo-aging, and UV-B which causes sunburn.
  • Water-proof. With emulsion formula and smooth powder for soft and silky finish. Blends smoothly into skin without white residue.
  • With Oriental plant extracts and mineral ingredients to hydrate and protect skin.
  • Suitable as makeup base. Enhances application and lasting effect of foundation.

How to apply: Shake well, personally the way I would use it is tilting my head back and lightly applying on the cheeks and forehead, then spreading the excess everywhere by patting it in from face to neck.

Ingredients: Here's a link to the ingredients via cosdna, but if you don't want to see there's basically "Water, alcohol" as the first ingredients, while the main ingredients are below in the listing. The formulation seems to be the same whether for the lotion, sun gel or even essence milk.
Medicated Sekkisei lotion (toner, far left), Sun gel (Center), Essence milk (right)
Personal experience: This product can feel greasy if you use it excessively, at the time when my acne breakouts were at its peak, I couldn't help but notice this did nothing good for my skin. Personally, I can see this product doing better for someone who's dry skin or combination but more on the dry skin. However, with the amount of alcohol in these products, I just can't lead myself to recommending them. I have to say this is a product of preference, for those who don't mind alcohol. I'm sure if you're into J-Beauty, this is a product you've heard being raved about at some point in time. While I was using it, I don't recall any phenomenal results aside from enjoying the fact there wasn't a need to use sunscreen after since it was already infused in the milk.

Rate: 2/5

I'll make it simple, if you haven't read my other product reviews for this product series, I actually don't happen to be a fan of any the products because of the high amount of alcohol.

I will say that this essence milk does a wonderful job as a hand cream, though I'm mainly inclined to say that considering it didn't have any other use for me and the texture is silky smooth.

It reminds me to the texture of the Transino C Whitening Day Protector which I've got a review coming for too, however, I happen to like the Transino product much more than this one.

To be completely I'm not impressed by the formulation of this product at all either, just seems to be overhyped if anything. .

The first three ingredients are: water, alcohol and silicones. . This is usually what I try to avoid too much, especially water since it's just. . water.

There are products where the main ingredient won't just be almost entirely of water, however, this isn't the case.
