The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Self Heating Clay Mask Review

Hello everyone,

I'm back with another product review!

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Self Heating Clay Mask

Product Description: The heating pore mask containing Jeju Volcanic Ash purifies skin as a warm sensation opens pores upon application. Formulated with sebum absorbing Jeju Volcanic Ash which is the result of volcanic activity on Jeju Island. Its gel texture absorbs excess sebum and provides intensive pore care. Formulated with City Defender Complex to help fight the effects of fine dust, helps defend skin against the elements and fine dust.

How to apply the face mask: After washing your face, apply a sufficient amount and spread evenly on areas requiring pore care. Gently massage for 3 to 5 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Personal experience with product: I personally enjoyed this product for the price, I managed to get it at $9.00 because of my personal discount. The product contains 20 ml, 0.68 US Fluid oz, personally since I use it twice a week, I don't think that it will last me more than four months of use.

I only apply this product after cleansing my skin, personally the best use is after a warm shower so that your pores have opened up, you may also just apply warm water on your skin after cleansing to open the pores a bit.

Unfortunately, I am a bit disappointed that this mask needs to be constantly massaged to get a lukewarm heating effect. Perhaps I was expecting too much from the "Self heating" aspect of the mask, as I was expecting it to be much warmer and for the heat to continue without having to massage it into my skin for five minutes. I've noticed the moment that you stop massaging the gel like product, immediately the lukewarm heat begins to fade away.

However, I've noticed a 50% decrease in my blackheads around the sides of my nose during my first use. Since my third week of using the product, I've noticed it's removed a fair amount of my blackheads from the initial start of using this product. I would say roughly about 60%-70%, although I have noticed at times there will still be a bit of blackheads that weren't removed. As for oil production, I haven't noticed my oily skin (especially on my T-zone) to be any better. Throughout the day, I'm always using a few oil blotting sheets, oh well.

Product price: $12.00 USD

Product testing period: Twice a week for three weeks, ongoing.

Please note: My recommendation of the product is based on the overall effectiveness only, please be mindful of the ingredients and decide whether this is a suitable product for your own use.
Texture of the product, it's very much a (gooey) gel that you spread in the desired area, though I only use on the nose region. I would recommend not press an excess amount of the product, as it begins to drip down your face, which has happened to me. As for the taste. . Well, let's just say I washed my mouth and spit it out immediately.
