Kiehl's Skin Rescuer Review

Hello,

Today's blog entry actually isn't featuring a Korean cosmetic brand product, it's actually an American cosmetics brand that I've been a long time fan of!

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer
Honestly, I would of never stumbled upon Kiehl's so quickly if it wasn't for @Yutakis who's raved about it for such a long time, even till this day! Devoted one for sure, long time user of Kiehl's and always immediate to update when they launch a new product on his blog. Though he is generally sponsored and receives the featured item for free, on many occasions he has gone back with his own money and repurchased a variety of items!
Product Description:
  • Skin Rescuer: A first-to-market facial skincare innovation.
  • Reduce visible signs of stress and flare ups, including skin fatigue and redness.
  • Reveal a well-balanced complexion for a clear, fresh, and unified skin tone.

How to apply: Even apply with clean fingertips, I usually apply a fair amount (dime size) on the five corners (forehead, left cheek, right cheek, nose and chin), though i applied any excess amount on the remainder of my neck which doesn't necessarily need it as much.

Personal experience with product: A friend of mine actually got the moisturizer from the Kiehl's in Berkeley, though she mentioned something along the lines of having too many products and asked if I wanted this moisturizer, since it was a Kiehl's product (though it was already used) I didn't even take a second to respond. And so it was settled, I took the half used moisturizer that night, made my way back from Berkeley and began to use it for approximately five months. At first, I was a bit shocked at this moisturizer because of how thick it was, despite a creamy texture that will soak into your skin, soon enough. After a couple of initial applications, I noticed too much of it can easily make your skin very oily. With a proper amount, just a few dabs around the five areas of your face (forehead, left cheek, right cheek, nose, chin) because less is more with this moisturizer.

Though I can say it successfully lived up to it's claims of helping reduce visible signs of stress, for my sensitive/oily skin, this product unfortunately is not my go-to for daily use in the summer heat. I was impressed while I used this though, I noticed my face appeared less flushed and the forehead lines began to diminish in appearance.

Not necessarily best for me, though I'm certain this item can be a saving grace for the right skin type, without a doubt in my mind.

The one downfall with this product was eventually the pump won't dispense any more of the product, so you've got to uncap it and press the remainder of the moisturizer to get every last bit of it.

Offsetting ingredients

  • Phenoxyethanol: Preservative commonly found in a lot of products these days, though I try to avoid in products when possible, often I'll still use the product. For a more detailed analysis, click here. The ingredient is classified as low-moderate in the hazardous zone on the link provided.

Please note: My recommendation of the product is based on the overall effectiveness only, please be mindful of the ingredients and decide whether this is a suitable product for your own use.

Personally, I'm actually a huge fan of packaging and I cannot deny my love for this mint color. The design is very simplistic, yet still very appealing, also love how the target use for this product is in blue to make shopping for the right skin care products even easier. I'm a fan of the dispenser at the top too, keeping the product in a very hygienic environment, until it can't reach the remainder of the product (during it's end use) and is virtually useless.

Recommend? Yes, 3.5/5.
This product is easily best suited for dry/normal skin type, sensitive/oily skin types (such as myself) need to be careful of how much of this moisturizer we apply, to much can actually make the skin a bit oily.

Whether you're new to this blog or have been a long time follower, thank you. The support has played a tremendous role to continue what I love doing most, please leave a comment if you've had any experience with the product or have any questions/concerns.
