The Saem Secret Pure Nose Clear Patch Kit Review

Hello everyone,

Today's product review is a very popular cosmetic product many people, well. . probably abuse a bit. I'm also proud to say this is my first time featuring a product review from The Saem, I'm more than willing to try some other products from this brand as @bumkeyk (Key, SHINee) has displayed his use of many of the products. In fact, Key actually used the 3-step version of this patch, although this review is only the one step version of the product.

The Saem Secret Pure Nose Clear Patch Kit

Product Description: The nose clear patch removes sebum, blackheads, and dead skin cells from the nose.

How to apply the face mask: After washing the face, wet the nose area fully with water. Remove the film from the patch with a dry hand, and attach the patch closely to the contour of the nose. Leave it on for 10~15 minutes until the patch is completely dry. Then remove the patch slowly, starting from the edge.

Personal experience with product: Initially, I heard about The Saem from all the products that @bumkeyk was using on his own little show, "Key's know how"

I personally enjoyed watching it, but also took very immediate notes and replayed some of the episodes to learn from the skin care guru himself.

At any rate, since I've been following him avidly on Instagram for a very long time, I once came across his short instagram video featuring the use of: The Saem Secret Pure Nose Clear Patch Kit 3-step. I was immediately thrilled by the thought of a 3-step nose patch, though I haven't been a huge fan of them since I first used an american brand nose strip. After giving it some thought, I decided to purchase The Saem (8 count) patch, though I thought that I had ordered the 3-step version of the product. I was a bit disappointed in myself because I've never made quite a foolish mistake like this before, though after first use, I noticed the strip left my nose red for about an hour. However, ironically enough, after using it several more times over a period of 3 months, I began to notice the redness wasn't notable like my first time.

I noticed the product did work very well though, I saw a minimal reductions in blackheads but a ton of whiteheads that hadn't surfaced yet.

I personally was never a huge fan of these nose strips because I (still do this day) believe excess use of the patches will expand the pores. I personally use these nose patch once a month, though for my testing period for this blog entry, I used it twice a month to note the overall results.

I would love to try out the 3-step patch kit for this product, hopefully one day in the near future.

Product price: $7 USD.

Product testing period: 6 times over a period of three months.

Ingredients: Water, PVP. Dimethicone, Copolyol, Kaolin, VP/VA Copolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Butylene Glycol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract.

Offsetting ingredients
  • Phenoxyethanol: Preservative commonly found in a lot of products these days, though I try to avoid in products when possible, often I'll still use the product. For a more detailed analysis, click here. The ingredient is classified as low-moderate in the hazardous zone on the link provided.
  • Titanium Dioxidean inorganic compound used in a range of body care products such as sunscreens and makeup. It appears to have low skin penetration but inhalation is a concern, it's a low-moderate in overall hazard, however moderate under 'cancer' under the health ingredient. For a more detailed analysis, click here.
Please note: My recommendation of the product is based on the overall effectiveness only, please be mindful of the ingredients and decide whether this is a suitable product for your own use.

Recommend? Yes, 3.5/5.
I believe it removes a fair amount of excess dirt/sebum and especially whiteheads hidden beneath the surface. As for my personal use, I wouldn't use more than one per month, though that's just my personal preference with this nose patch.
