The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Clay Face Mask Review

Hello everyone, I'm back again with a new product review exclusively from The Face Shop!

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Clay Face Mask

Product Description: A convenient sheet mask with Jeju Volcanic Ash absorbs excess oil and helps cleans congested pores.

In other words, formulated with Jeju Volcanic Ash, this two piece mask (one for the top part of your face, another for the bottom half of your face) claims to remove excess sebum (oil, whiteheads and blackheads!)

How to apply the face mask:
1. Apply toner or mist to clean skin to moisten it slightly.
I personally skip this step since I don't see any considerable necessity for it.
2. Remove the mask from the package and peel off the clear film from the upper mask
to reveal the clay layer. Apply the upper mask first, then the lower mask.
Yes, this is precisely how I apply the two piece clay mask on my face too.
3. After applying both pieces of the mask, remove the film and leave mask on for
about 30 minutes until dry. Drying time may vary depending on temprature and skin type.
Personally, I wait until I can feel that the clay has hardened, from my experience I wait 10 minutes after the mask begins to feel tight.
4. When the mask is dry and starts to feel tight, slowly peel off from the outer edges. Rinse skin with water to remove any residue.
Yes, this is how I remove the mask as well when it's become tight. Mind you, because this is not a standard essence/serum/ampoule (liquid based) mask your face will be fairly dry afterwards. The mask in short is practically a giant nose strip for the entire face, drawing out the impurities and excess oil in our face. There isn't much residue left over, although make sure to wash that out and apply an appropriate toner/mist to balance the ph in your skin.

TFS Jeju Volcanic Lava Clay Mask Sheet (34 g) vs TFS Clay Mousse Pack (Tube, 100ml)

I personally have never worn a clay mask sheet like this, usually it's a spot treatment mask that you apply yourself throughout the face and neck. I didn't know what to think, although at the same time was oddly intrigued by the idea. The product's content is available in a tube form, The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Clay Mousse Pack. The only difference in the product is that the mask sheet is very convenient for those that just want the product in the form of a mask sheet. Honestly, since the tube has 100 ml, I usually inform customers that the tube is a better deal because of the pricing in store. If you were to buy it online, perhaps the pricing may be equivalent to that of 3-5 of these clay masks.

Another point of interest is that with the clay mask, since it's practically already ready to apply on your face, perhaps it's much easier than applying the clay mousse pack throughout your face.

For example, The Face Shop also has a black yeast peel off mask you apply around your face. Although, a majority of the time that I used it, the mask simply wouldn't peel off throughout my face as I had applied it. This may very well be the same case with the clay mousse pack, it's preference and I personally enjoy using the clay mask sheet that's ready to go when I open it.

Personal experience with product:

I was immediately surprised to see clay infused on a mask sheet, as well quite ecstatic when I noticed that this way a two piece mask.

I cleansed my face appropriately and just skipped the toner step, this product is easily best for use after a hot shower to open the pores.

The two piece mask actually fit perfectly and for the first ten minutes I was skeptical, although after 30 minutes had passed, I began to feel the mask and immediately noticed it began to feel tight. I left it on for another 15 minutes laying down since I was working on a blog entry for my main blog.

Though it seemed promising, results weren't very reassuring to my initial thought of how this product would work.

Product price: $8.00 USD at local TFS store, although much cheaper online.

Product testing period: Once every week for three consecutive weeks.

Ingredients:

Recommend? No, this product is too expensive and doesn't do much for my pores or oil control in the long run.
