The Face Shop White Seed Pure Vitamin C 10% Ampoule Review

Hello everyone,

Whether you're new to this blog or have been a long time follower, thank you. The support has played a tremendous role, also please feel free to comment if you've had any experience with the product or have any additional comments.

This is actually my 2nd blog (Product reviews), which was started a bit after the launch of my first (main blog) which you can visit by clicking, here.

Today's review is another product from The Face Shop!

The Face Shop White Seed Pure Vitamin C 10% Ampoule

This picture was taken as a part of a photo shoot for a variety of products, quite happy with how the photos came out.

Product Description: The highly concentrated brightening ampoule with vitamin C helps reduce unwanted pigmentation and other flaws, leaving skin looking bright and pure. It includes GMO-free white seed. A compound of brightening ingredients (White Lupin Seed, which contains a natural brightening substance, and White Daisy Flower extract, which helps reducing dullness) makes skin look bright and clear. This White Seed Complex is formulated without 7 additives: parabens, tar colorant, animal-sourced ingredients, mineral oil, talc, polyacrylamide, paraffin.

How to apply: Apply a minimal amount on the blemish/trouble spot areas, through personal experience, be very cautious of applying too much of this product on one spot.

A hidden gem among the remainder of the products at The Face Shop, though from my experience the item was sold out immediately.

Personal experience with product: I was hoping this product would return to my local TFS store! However, after the recent (3-4 months ago) grand opening, it was sold immediately and unfortunately hadn't been restocked since. Eventually, I grew a bit 'impatient' if you will and decided to order the item from South Korea. Though it was still a long period, as free shipping is generally 'slow' from outside the country.

Fast forward to when the product came in, I was fond of the packaging and noticed it was in the new packaging.

I was hesitant though, I was even very skeptical since this product's line is immense, to my knowledge it has the following items for the White Seed line: White Seed Special Set (Tone up cream + essence), White Seed Toner, Lotion, Serum, Exfoliating Cleanser, and the Vitamin C Ampoule.

How could one product from this line promise me brightening/whitening effects? How could one product remove my post acne marks that are quite dark and dull? The product is actually fairly small too, how could this last me?

Well. .

To my own pleasant surprise, this product could intend to all those concerns!

Goodness, I began to use for two months on and off (also testing other products) and noticed the nights sleeping with the product on my face was the holy grail!

When I was ready to go to bed, I would cleanse my face (multiple steps as said on other blog entries), apply a toner (give it a few minutes, let the toner sink into the skin), apply eye cream and then follow with the White Seed Vitamin C Ampoule.

The first night, I noticed an uncomfortable burning sensation from the areas I applied the product on. I fought through the mild stinging and itching, eventually an hour later it wasn't notable and I went to sleep.

The product actually claims to have a warming effect when applied onto the skin, though I've kept it in the fridge since the first encounter with burning and stinging because I prefer a cooling finish.

The next morning. . I was in shock! My post acne marks had been dramatically brightened after only one use, of course because this is a whitening product, I chose to wear it at night.

I wouldn't recommend wearing it during the day as it makes the skin more sensitive to the Sun rays/UVA/UVB damage. Though if you choose to apply it during the day, wear plenty of sunblock or you'll be further damaging your skin.

Throughout the two months of my testing period for this product, I began to apply less, just enough that would cover the post acne marks on my cheeks. When I went to sleep those nights, I never noticed the unusual stinging and burning that I had from the start.

I am convinced it's because I applied to much of the product on my post acne mark areas, as well, heed my warning: This product is not to be stacked!

By that I mean. . Do not apply this product, then follow with a variety of other products (such as overnight creams, peels, mask sheets, etc)

I would only recommend this product as a  finishing step product for the night regime, as mixing products with this ampoule can be catastrophic to your face and even worsen your acne marks.

All in all, I'll continue to use this product and be grateful for the lightening of my pesky acne marks. Though I like to try products out and not repurchase any, this may be an exception, though I'll update this review when I've finished the entire tube.

UPDATE 7/26/17: It's been a while since I've used this product, however now I'm very much informed of the ingredients and this product is suitable for this wild mild acne marks/post acne. This product contains willow bark which is a natural salicylic acid to clean out the bacteria/dirt on the pimple in question. I don't think this product is meant for those with long term sun spots or acne marks, as I believe it's just strong enough for those who've had recent marks.
I would not recommend this to those with sensitive skin either, as this product was a bit harsh starting out even back when I used it.
Love the packaging too, very simple and sleek, in fact this product was ordered online since my local TFS had sold out of this product. According to my coworker, a Korean lady came in and bought all of the remaining Vitamin C Ampoule's, it's been sold out since.

Product price: $25.00 (12ml, quite a small tube that should last a few months, depending on how much trouble spots you have.)

  1. I've only tried the product once and I thought the burning sensation was an adverse reaction. It's reassuring to know that it gets better. Thanks for the review!

  2. I'm so sorry for the late response!

Ah, definitely. . It is quite the burning sensation at the start, if it definitely doesn't get better over the time of a week. . Begin to lessen the amount of product, as it's just a spot treatment in actuality. I would not use this product on any active breakouts either, just post acne marks or areas you wish to brighten. I had good fortune with this product, but ultimately ended up giving it my aunt as she was in need of a product to lighten sun spots! Hope it works well for you, if not. . I've got other recommendations too.
