[Review] A'PIEU x Crayon Shin Chan Pure Block Sun Bling Balm SPF50+ PA+++

Hello visitors from around the world,

Today's product review is actually one that I've been longing to write, though I took a long testing period with this product to ensure it's efficiency.

A'PIEU x Crayon Shin Chan Pure Block Sun Bling Balm SPF 50+ PA+++

Product Description: Triple treatment sun balm: Whitening /Wrinkle-reducing /Sun Protection SPF50+ PA+++ containing (60%) moisture essence.

Note: This product is available only in one shade: Apricot based texture helps to express healthy and clean skin, mild product for sensitive skin.

How to apply the balm: Carefully gather balm onto the puff, when a fair amount has successfully been transferred onto the puff, gently apply in a circular motion (inwards to outward motion) starting point from the middle of the forehead (apply onto left side, alternate to right), inner left cheek or inner right and going outwards. This product can be applied on the neck too, though I only use this product on my face as preference.

Application tip: Carefully apply the product along the jawline, generally I start from the left or right side and come to the middle, then simply alternate the side from the first you were applying on and repeat until complete. This actually creates a natural highlight effect when applied correctly. I generally do this to give the appearance of a slightly slimmer jawline, though it's just based on preference.

Back of the compact, quite a nice view from where the photo was taken too.

Personal experience with product: I was pleasantly surprised with this product, I actually purchased it on a complete whim when I purchased a haul of the A'PIEU x クレヨンしんちゃん (Crayon Shin Chan) collection. I've personally been a huge fan myself for a while now, additionally I discovered that A'PIEU is the sister brand of Missha!

side note: I just came back from Japan recently and I purchased the Missha Magic Moisture Cushion there, product review for that wonderful product will be up soon enough too!

The compact is similar to most brands, though the charm point was the クレヨンしんちゃん limited edition collection, I knew the product would be a sunscreen (hence, "sunscreen balm) but didn't know what to expect, I had never used anything then traditional sunscreen for sun protection.

When the product arrived I was very much content with the design, however, I was even much more surprised to test out the product on my cheeks!

This product has an Apricot based texture which worried me for a moment, I didn't want my face to appear as if I was wearing blush or any type of (extremely) notable makeup product. However, this product (balm) easily transfers onto the puff, which glides through my face and gives an instant glow/shine effect. The skin looks notably more "healthy" in a sense, definitely helps for instant brightening and just polishing the overall skin texture.

This product however offers little to no coverage for any type of acne marks, sun spots, etc. As much as it looks like a bb/cc cushion compact, it's just a sun balm (sunscreen coverage, natural facial enhancer) that offers sun coverage. Personally, this product is quite nice if you're just going out during the day and want a natural look. I definitely feel this product allows my skin (most importantly my pores) to breathe, in my opinion, in terms of breath-ability it goes: Sun Balm > CC Cushion > BB Cushion (I've only recently purchased my first BB Cushion which I mentioned above, though I can certainly tell the difference when using the product).

The product does moisturize the skin a bit, though it's definitely not a pool of moisture for your skin during application. Personally, I use spray toner onto the puff and then absorb, I personally experience an even better application with more moisturizing effect/dewy finish.

I don't have any complaints, this product melts into my skin with ease and enhances my natural facial features.

One more thing, this product can be (according to the claim) applied before makeup application and throughout the day as touch up, recall that we need to apply sunscreen every 2-3 hours of the day.

    1. Hi there, unfortunately because this product is more on the apricot beige side (Korean cushion shade 21 - barely hitting 22), I actually wouldn't recommend it. My skin tone with Korean cushions fall between 22-23 (23=Honey beige) and I would actually say it's a 'bit' too light for myself even. Hope this helps!
