A'PIEU x Crayon Shin Chan White Up Cream

Here comes another product review with one of my most favorite collaborations to date, if not my most favorite. .

A'PIEU x Crayon Shin Chan White Up Cream

Product Description: Milky whitening cream makes the skin brighter, tone up with Niacinamide and Adenosine! Real brightening up with milk protein, glacial water, glutathione.

Note: In my own personal use, Glutathione is a very powerful skin brightener and in many different cosmetics featuring this ingredient, the result is quite phenomenal.

NiacinamideAlso known as vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid, niacinamide is a very effective skin-restoring ingredient that offers multiple benefits for aging skin. Niacinamide can improve skin’s look and feel, brighten its tone and revive skin's healthy texture.

Adenosine: Anti-aging ingredient, Adenosine is a yeast-derived ingredient that functions as a good soothing and skin-restoring ingredient.

How to apply the cream: After washing the hands, gently apply each fingertip on one hand and collect a minimal amount of product (less is more) and apply on the following five areas: Forehead, left cheek, right cheek, nose and chin. This product may be applied to neck as well, if the individual wishes to do so.

This product unfortunately doesn't come with a spatula, I personally always try to avoid placing my fingers directly into a tub as to preserve and keep the product as clean as possible.

Personal experience with product: When I began using this product, I was very much underwhelmed and actually shocked because all my other experiences with A'PIEU products were magnificent. When I first encountered this product, I noticed it was a cream and what that translates to is final step of skincare, before sunscreen + any additional makeup products for any whom this may concern that's reading. Immediately I noticed this product doesn't absorb into my skin and is much too greasy for my oily prone skin to handle during the day, in fact I'm shocked it can even handle it at night. However, when I tried at night, I simply applied toner and the cream and it was still quite heavy on my skin. Since my acne is not very active, I actually can use this cream occasionally as a night cream. Since my skin type is post-acne, this product works quite well if I just remove it the next morning with cleansing cream. With my experience, water doesn't remove the cream quickly and I have to tug at my skin too much without the use of cleansing cream. Additonally, when I'm using the cleansing cream to remove it the next morning, I still see the effects of the cream, despise it staying as a film on top of my face.

For the record, this product cannot be stacked with any make-up base products if for some reason anyone would dare to use this cream during the day, which I would never recommend as it's not very hydrating.

As a night cream that I'll remove the next morning with cleansing cream, it's slightly better than average in terms of whitening.

In terms of hydrating my skin or helping control the sebum/oil product, it's exactly what you wouldn't want on your face.

Product price: $13.00 USD (online)
Close up of the design around the cream container, quite nice, don't you think?
The product itself has a sleek, fresh look that I personally enjoy, reminder that it'll always be a bit more pricey for the collaboration edition of the item, if it's been repackaged.

Product testing period3 months - ongoing

Ingredients: I apologize, after hours of searching online, I could not locate the ingredients of this product anywhere.

Offsetting ingredients: N/A, personally if I don't know the entire ingredients in a product, I feel fairly uneasy to use it. As well, using it once again without knowledge of the entire ingredients list is more than likely not to happen.
Texture: Semi-thick white cream, easy to blend but difficult for product to sink into the skin.

Recommend?

In terms of whitening effect in this product, easily 4/5.
However, in terms of moisturizing, being a lightweight night cream or even absorbing into the skin. . 1/5.

This product is actually an exception where I'm going to say Yes and No for my recommendation, which I'll explain thoroughly below.
  • Yes, I recommend this product if. . This product couldn't possibly be used during the day, this is out of the question completely if that's your goal because it is too thick and for certain individuals it may easily clog pores. I use this as a sleeping mask myself (Refer to my personal experience above) and though the semi-creamy texture allows this product to be spread around my face without much difficulty, it doesn't at all sink into my skin until at least 10 hours later. As well, it doesn't sink very much at all, rather it creates a film at the top of the surface which creates a powerful whitening effect. For a very long time I was in a mad dilemma because of this product, how on earth could I have the effects work when the cream can't even completely absorb into the skin? Mind you, if you don't wash it off the next morning, it'll leave an extremely obvious film and make you appear fairly unusual. As well, with my experience, washing my face of this cream will strip it's effects. Since this is the case otherwise, once I wake up in the morning, I will remove this very thick cream with cleansing cream and it works beautifully.
Note: This product has very strong whitening elements, though most the time products under whitening are just brightening product, this product is intended and works as a skin whitening cream. I have a little post-acne and whitening the marks actually helps remove the appearance, I do not in any way mean to imply having fair skin is superior to any other skin color, that is not true and I cannot agree with that thought.

  • No, I don't recommend this product if. . You're looking for a moisturizing, non-greasy product. As mentioned above, this product is a very thick cream that can only be used overnight and it's fairly greasy, which I haven't encountered in many cream products. If you're looking for a moisturizing cream, this is definitely not it but don't let that discourage you! There's another product review from this collaboration series that I would recommend, it's the A'PIEU x Crayon Shin Chan Good Night Sleeping Mask!

Please note: I will not be repurchasing this product, however, it's always an honor to try out new products with my own money.
